Melanie Williams-Vail, President

Melanie co-founded Bonus Software Corporation in 2004 and serves as its President. As President, Melanie aligns the strategic goals of the company with those of the customers. Melanie brings 20 years of software design and development experience to Bonus Software. She spends significant time working directly on client programs and keeps a close eye on software best practices and technologies.

Prior to co-founding Bonus Software Corporation, Melanie held multiple leadership roles with United Space Alliance (USA). As a simulation software specialist, she was responsible for guiding the architecture of the simulation software used to test the flight software for NASA’s next generation crew vehicle.

As a member of USA’s Advanced Technology group, Melanie not only led the development and design of simulation software, but also supported business development activities through proposal support and research and development projects. Melanie started her career at Unisys Corporation as a Software Engineer developing Space Shuttle payload models for real-time simulation. She continued her support for the space program at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where she developed simulation models for Space Station to Space Shuttle communication training.

Terry Vail, Vice President

Terry brings 30 years of experience in business, information and program management systems development and integration to Bonus Software. With a reputation for providing high quality, real-world solutions to fulfill customer needs, Terry is driven by his passion for applying cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of business information flow.

Terry supports clients with consulting, training and software development projects. His current and former projects include major cost proposal support, earned value systems development, integration and training, development of cost models and staffing tools, and development of NASA cost reporting systems.

Prior to co-founding Bonus Software, Terry was chief technical officer of Vitalthought, a project management consultancy. At Vitalthought, Terry managed the software development programs and support operations for both commercial and custom products. Terry led the vision and development of VitalThought’s first commercial software application: the VitalThought Toolbox™ for MPM™. He also served as a consultant to Government contractors and commercial companies providing services such as program and financial impact analysis, systems integration, implementation, and application development.

Prior to Vitalthought, Terry served as the Information Systems Manager for a large NASA contractor, Wyle Laboratories. He provided guidance and direction in the implementation and maintenance of the corporate infrastructure with a keen emphasis on their business and financial systems. Terry also integrated accounting, procurement and reporting systems with interface “glue” software and provided technical support during the migration from an old accounting system to a newer Oracle based system. He provided consultation to the Program Control office on the utilization and implementation of Earned Value tools. Terry started his career as a business systems analyst for Singer-Link.
